Global Dynamics of Certain Homogeneous Second-Order Quadratic Fractional Difference Equation
We investigate the basins of attraction of equilibrium points and minimal period-two solutions of the difference equation of the form x(n+1) = x²(n-1)/(ax²(n) + bx(n)x(n-1) + cx²(n-1)), n = 0,1, 2,…, where the parameters a, b, and c are positive numbers and the initial conditions x₋₁ and x₀ are arbitrary nonnegative numbers. The unique feature of this equation is the coexistence of an equilib...
متن کاملNaimark-Sacker Bifurcation of Second Order Rational Difference Equation with Quadratic Terms
We investigate the global asymptotic stability and Naimark-Sacker bifurcation of the difference equation xn+1 = F bxnxn−1 + cxn−1 + f , n = 0, 1, . . . with non-negative parameters and nonnegative initial conditions x−1, x0 such that bx0x−1 + cx−1 +f > 0. By using fixed point theorem for monotone maps we find the region of parameters where the unique equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable.
متن کاملConvergence Results on a Second-Order Rational Difference Equation with Quadratic Terms
We investigate the global behavior of the second-order difference equation xn 1 xn−1 αxn βxn−1 / Axn Bxn−1 , where initial conditions and all coefficients are positive. We find conditions on A,B, α, β under which the even and odd subsequences of a positive solution converge, one to zero and the other to a nonnegative number; as well as conditions where one of the subsequences diverges to infini...
متن کاملSTUDYING THE BEHAVIOR OF SOLUTIONS OF A SECOND-ORDER RATIONAL DIFFERENCE EQUATION AND A RATIONAL SYSTEM
In this paper we investigate the behavior of solutions, stable and unstable of the solutions a second-order rational difference equation. Also we will discuss about the behavior of solutions a the rational system, we show these solutions may be stable or unstable.
متن کاملGlobal asymptotic stability of a higher order rational difference equation
In this note, we consider the following rational difference equation: xn+1 = f (xn−r1 , . . . , xn−rk )g(xn−m1 , . . . , xn−ml )+ 1 f (xn−r1 , . . . , xn−rk )+ g(xn−m1 , . . . , xn−ml ) , n= 0,1, . . . , where f ∈ C((0,+∞)k, (0,+∞)) and g ∈ C((0,+∞)l, (0,+∞)) with k, l ∈ {1,2, . . .}, 0 r1 < · · ·< rk and 0 m1 < · · ·<ml , and the initial values are positive real numbers. We give sufficient con...
